The Problem

LE Williams faced the formidable challenge of reverse engineering an outdated sonar deployment device that had suffered extensive corrosion, hindering the Navy vessel’s operational readiness and mission fulfillment.

Extraction of the device from a hard-to-reach section required removing significant portions of the vessel’s structure.

Our Solution

Undeterred, LE Williams extracted the device and transported it to its repair facility. Extensive research was conducted to understand the device’s composition. Meticulously creating new blueprints and procuring appropriate materials, LE Williams utilised state-of-the-art facilities to manufacture the entire sonar deployment unit in-house.

Upon completion, the device was seamlessly reinstalled with the collaboration of the vessel’s crew. Through our unwavering commitment, LE Williams successfully recommissioned the unit, restoring the vessel’s operational capacity and enabling it to continue its crucial mission.

Throughout the process, our team proved to be a cooperative partner with the client, providing a comprehensive solution with on-site work, efficient reverse engineering and seamless retrofitting capabilities.
